Local fare is centre stage in 2010 at The Pod, Anzac Oval!

Celebrating the theme of bushfoods, wildfoods and other local produce from Central Australia, this Harvest Fare will showcase the best of the region with displays, tastings, cooking demonstrations, workshops and bush medicine. Highlights not to be missed…

Day 1 of the Wild Bushfoods Recipe Competition.. see the ‘Young Foodies’ and ‘Savoury’ contestants try their wild recipes out on a panel of daring judges.. stick around and see if you can sample some entries!

Roo Tail with Karnte Camp Women.. see and smell the distinct flavour of roo tail being cooked by the Karnte Camp Women, get there fast for a taste of this popular Central Australian bushfood.

Iron Chef challenge (Alice Springs style).. witness and barrack as two local chef’s battle it out to produce a winning wild/bushfoods dish. Restricted by time, ingredients, and crowd-pleasing pressure this will be a fun event not to be missed.

Stalls and products.. don’t miss the chance to come down and purchase some local bush-medicines and other produce. Talk to the people that made them and find out more about their products.

Speakers.. take a breather from the recipe comp excitement, grab a bite to eat and sit down for some interesting educational talks about local wild/bushfood harvesting, history and industry development.
